After many, many ups and downs, and apart from the broken rosh hashanah resolutions about taking GRE more seriously and starting grad school-hunt asap, this was a good sunday. I was kinda "blessed" by a rabbi who wandered around the campus with his shofar: he blew it while I was 'sunbathing' in front of the library tower and now I expect splendid changes in my life! -BTW, yes, I said 'sunbathing' -literally. Right here, on campus. Can you believe that? Today was the first real day of sunshine and warmth that Binghamton experienced -at least since we got back- and you know how I had been waiting for the sun to come out, so I spent almost an hour lazing outside, talking on the phone (Levent, you deserve special thanks for all you've done!),enjoying undreamed-of sunshine& wonderfully distracting weather and drinking my bubble tea -oh, that was why I felt so elated today! Sure, I had to go inside and study more, while "the housing patterns, domesticity and cleanliness in South Africa" was the least interesting topic I could think of, but did I whine about it? Surprisingly, the answer is no. Ha! I'm a summer girl, through and through :))
