dear diary,
i traveled to a few cities and got to see friends and we had some events that gave us the perfect excuse to dress up and have fun. jessie visited me in dc, we attended embassy events and ate some nice meals, and i continued to teach my summer courses and meet my research students.
this time i've been away long enough that saying goodbye to a. was hard and i missed a lot of creature comforts of my home. when i say "i'm old" i think i just mean "i'm not interested."
i love being here and i don't know what's going on with my career but it's fine. i can’t wait to take a break from work once i’m done writing this summer. i'm gonna disappear and work on book ideas and maybe get into traveling again??? and avoid getting covid as best i can.
that’s what i’ve got! idk what else is happening! maybe nothing all year! maybe i’m not defined by my work anymore!!!
